1: Chilliechewer:- What initially inspired you to pursue a career in music?

Can you share a bit about your musical upbringing and early experiences?

Master shekkor:- The moment I discovered my love for House Music after moving

to Namibia. I knew that this was the path I wanted to follow through for the rest of my life. At my high school, I started out as a house music DJ.

Participating in every sporting event and talent presentation hosted by the school. Growing up, my late father was opposed to my desire to

pursue a profession in the music industry; but, once I graduated from high school, my mother

persuaded him to support me while I pursued my studies in the music industry.

2: Chilliechewer:- How do you approach the songwriting process?

Are there specific themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?

Master shekkor:-  I don't really have a fixed formula that I use for songwriting as each and every project is different. Hence; the need of using different approach each time!

I strongly consider myself as A "Pan African Artist". I want my art to have a powerful hold on people, compelling them to get up and dance while having fun with the people they care about.

3: Chilliechewer:- Who are your musical influences, and how have they shaped your style?

Are there any specific artists or genres that inspire your work?

Master shekkor:-  My influences come from many parts of Africa and around the Globe. I would describe my sound as Vibey, Uptempo,

African Electronic Dance Music that embraces Global and African variety. I consider my sound as a synthesis of the past and the future.

In regards to those who have shaped my style, I would definitely say David Guetta, Bass Hunter, DJ Snake, RedOne, Boddhi Satva, Black Motion, Da Capo, DJ Shimza, Gregor Salto, Djeff just to mention a few!!!

4: Chilliechewer:- What do you consider to be the turning point in your musical career?

Can you share a memorable or defining moment in your journey so far?

Master shekkor:- When I start running out of pages in my passport due to bookings in and out of the African continent is what I will safely say will be the turning point in my musical career!

A defining moment in my journey so far.. It has to be this year when I got an international feature to remix an original Bollywood Soundtrack, "Laila Main Laila".

5: Chilliechewer:- How do collaborations with other artists impact your creative process?

Is there a particular collaboration that stands out as especially meaningful to you?

Master shekkor:-  I'm one person who believes collaborations should not be forced. Music is one thing that rejects toxicity no matter how creative you are. Hence; the energy amongst all parties I am collaborating with has to be well aligned.

6: Chilliechewer:-  What challenges have you faced in your music career, and how did you overcome them?

How do you perceive your growth as an artist over the years?

Master shekkor:-  Almost everything in music requires funding.  So at times the challenge of being low on funds slows down everything! Having other side hustles to fund the music is and has been what I'm currently doing!

7: Chilliechewer:- Do you have a favorite album or project that you've worked on? Why?

Are there specific songs that hold special meaning for you?

Master shekkor:-  I do have a couple of projects that I have worked on.. some yet to be released! Why.. Some are based on personal experiences.

And yes there are specific songs that hold a special  meaning to me, especially the song that I have done in honor of my late father that is yet to be released!

8: Chilliechewer:- How do you view the current state of the music industry, and what changes have you observed?

Any advice for aspiring musicians navigating the industry?

Master shekkor:- Current state of the music industry.. I think this is probably the best time ever  to be alive and be proud to be African because the whole world got its eyes fixed on Africa when it comes to music!

Advice for aspiring musicians.. Take time to learn and understand the music business!!!

9: Chilliechewer:- Can you share any upcoming projects or ventures you're excited about?

Where do you see your musical journey taking you in the next few years?

Master shekkor:-  I got another international feature to remix an original Bollywood Soundtrack. Release schedule for March 2024.

I definitely see myself as an international star traveling in and out of the African continent  driving people wild on the dancefloors!

10: Chilliechewer:- How do you engage with your fans, and what role do they play in your artistic journey?

Are there any fan interactions that have left a lasting impression on you?

Master shekkor:-  I engage with my fans on all my social media platforms, Facebook & Instagram.  The fans play a big role in the journey! They are the ones who spread the word about what I do, stream the music, buy the music and so forth!
